Swedish William Karlsson had a debut as KIC Motorsport driver in Austrian circuit of Red Bull Ring – All three drivers gained lots of experience from 7th meeting of the FRECA series season 2023
In previous summer events of the international Formula Regional by Alpine EU Racing series the Finnish KIC Motorsport racing team driver Maya Weug had collect multiple points positions. However now in 7th weekend of the series KIC Motorsport and its’ drivers were unable to collect any points.
Even teams debutant, swedish Willian Karlsson, Ferrari Academy driver Maya Weug and ukraine Ivan Klymenco entered the intense racing weekend, which was driven in traditional austiran racing circuit of Red Bull Ring, with high hopes and highly motivated, they encountered dissapointing results in qualifying as well as in both 30 minute races.
In a weekend of extreme high level of competitiveness, best result was collected by Maya Weug, who was 19th fastest in Saturdays event. Sundays event she was forced to retire due a collision with a fellow competitor in first lap of the race. Klymenko and Karlsson gained lots of experience and finished the races in positions P23 to P28.
The weekend was black also for norwegian rookie driver Martinius Stenshorhe, who also was unable to collect any points from Spielberg. Therefore series leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli is now in 35 points lead from Stenshorne, who is in 2nd position in overall standings.
Star driver of the Red Bull Racing weekend was french Alessandro Giusti who drove nearly a perfect weekend and collect P1 and P2. Therefore he rised into 5th position in overall standings as there are still six rounds to be driven.
KIC Motorsport driver Maya Weug is in 3rd position in Rookies standings.
Next round of the Formula Regional by Alpine Europe is to be driven in next weekend at traditional Italian circuit of Monza.
