MONZA 2023: MAYA WEUG BACK ON POINTS

Heavy carnage ruined intense racing in both races

17.9.2023 – Maya Weug collect two points from Monza – Multiple crashes ruined fierce racing

In 8th meeting of Formula Regional by Alpine European Championship season 2023 series, which was driven in traditional italian racing circuit of Monza, drivers couldn’t measure their skills against each others because of multiple crashes. In two 30 minute events there were in total of five safety cars and eventually Sundays race was red flagged as there were still four minutes and a last lap to be driven.

In a weekend of intense racing the best KIC Motorsport driver was Ferrari Academy member Maya Weug. In Saturdays event she collect two points and in Sundays race she was 13th fastest. Also KIC Motorsport swedish driver William Karlsson and ukraine Ivan Klymenko avoided dramas and gained more experience in positions 20th to 26th.

Saturdays race was a carnage which provided thrilling positioning for norwegian rookie driver Martinius Stenshorne. R-Ace GP team driver started the race in P19 and finished it in P2. KIC Motorsport driver Maya Weug also gained positions from P16 to P9 due many crashes her fellow competitors encountered. For example brasilian pole position driver Rafael Camara was forced to retire due collision with rival driver.

Because Martinius Stenshorne retired in Sundays race and italian Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli was victorious, he has now four weeks time to enjoy his 45 points leadership in overall classifications. KIC Motorsport Maya Weug is in 3rd position in rookies Championship as there are still four 30 minute races to be driven.

Next round is located in Dutch circuit of Zandvoort in the middle of October.
